DENN

DENN

Domain found in a variety of signalling proteins, always encircled by uDENN and dDENN
SMART ACC:SM000799
Description:The DENN domain is found in a variety of signalling proteins involved in Rab-mediated processes or regulation of MAPKs signalling pathways. The DENN domain is always encircled on both sides by more divergent domains, called uDENN (for upstream DENN) and dDENN (for downstream DENN). The function of the DENN domain remains to date unclear, although it appears to represent a good candidate for a GTP/GDP exchange activity.

InterPro abstract:

This entry represents the core or cDENN domain.

The tripartite DENN (Differentially Expressed in Normal and Neoplastic Cells) domain is an evolutionarily conserved protein module found in several proteins involved in Rab-mediated processes and, in some cases, regulation of MAPK (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase) signalling pathways and related proteins in eukaryotic organisms. The DENN … expand

KEGG pathways involving proteins which contain this domain

This information is based on the mapping of SMART genomic protein database to KEGG orthologous groups. Percentages are related to the number of proteins containing a DENN domain which could be assigned to a KEGG orthologous group, and not all proteins containing DENN domains. Please note that proteins can be included in multiple pathways, ie. the numbers below will not add to 100%.
