Interpro abstract (IPR007078): | The CcmD protein is part of a C-type cytochrome biogenesis operon [ (PUBMED:7635817) ]. CcmD interacts with CcmE and CcmC, establishing a cytoplasm to periplasm haem delivery pathway [ (PUBMED:10998170) (PUBMED:15513913) ]. CcmD is a component of the CcmABC ATP-binding cassette transporter complex. It is not necessary for the CcmC-dependent transfer of heme to CcmE in the periplasm but it is required for the release of holo-CcmE from the CcmABCD complex [ (PUBMED:18326572) ]. |
GO process: | cytochrome complex assembly (GO:0017004), heme transport (GO:0015886) |
GO component: | integral component of membrane (GO:0016021) |
