There is currently no experimental data for members of this group or their homologues, nor do they exhibit features indicative of any function. However, they are found in an operon along with components of a TonB transport system (typified by Vibrio cholerae TonB2 [ (PUBMED:9781885) ], and are predicted to be localized to the periplasmic space.

Caution: the low-complexity nature of these sequences produces spurious BLAST hits to chromosome segregation ATPases (which are much longer in length and contain canonical Walker motifs). Accordingly, some members are misidentified as such.
