Diphthami_syn_2

Diphthami_syn_2
PFAM accession number:PF01902
Interpro abstract (IPR002761):

Diphthamide_syn, diphthamide synthase, catalyses the last amidation step of diphthamide biosynthesis using ammonium and ATP. Diphthamide synthase is evolutionarily conserved in eukaryotes. Diphthamide is a post-translationally modified histidine residue found on archaeal and eukaryotic translation elongation factor 2 (eEF-2) [ (PUBMED:23169644) ].

This domain has a strongly conserved motif SXGXDS at the N terminus [ (PUBMED:12012333) ].

This is a PFAM domain. For full annotation and more information, please see the PFAM entry Diphthami_syn_2
