This family consist of Mapk-regulated corepressor-interacting protein 1 (MCRIP1) and 2 (MCRIP2). MCRIP1 binds to and inhibits the transcriptional co-repressor CtBP. MCRIP1 is an ERK substrate; when phosphorylated by ERK, MCRIP1 releases CtBP to induce chromatin modifications [ (PUBMED:25728771) ].
