  Members of this family are bacterial proteins with a conserved motif [KR]FYDLN, sometimes flanked by a pair of CXXC motifs, followed by a long region of low complexity sequence in which roughly half the residues are Asp and Glu, including multiple runs of five or more acidic residues.
