PFAM accession number:PF02634
Interpro abstract (IPR003786):

FdhD is a protein essential for the activity of formate dehydrogenases (FDHs) [ (PUBMED:8034623) ], but it is not a component of membrane-bound formate dehydrogenase [ (PUBMED:2170340) ]. In Escherichia coli, it has been shown to function as a sulfurtransferase between IscS to the molybdenum cofactor prior to its insertion into formate dehydrogenase [ (PUBMED:25649206) ]. Sulfur transfer between IscS and FDH is a indispensable step for FDH activity [ (PUBMED:22194618) ].

GO function:sulfurtransferase activity (GO:0016783)
