Helicase_C_2

Helicase_C_2
PFAM accession number:PF13307
Interpro abstract (IPR006555):

This domain of unknown function is found at the C terminus of some ATP-dependent helicases characterised by a 'D-E-A-H' motif. This resembles the 'D-E-A-D-box' of other known helicases, a special version of the B motif of ATP-binding proteins however His replaces the second Asp. The DEAD box helicases are involved in various aspects of RNA metabolism, including nuclear transcription, pre-mRNA splicing, ribosome biogenesis, nucleocytoplasmic transport, translation, RNA decay and organellar gene expression.

GO process:nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process (GO:0006139)
GO function:helicase activity (GO:0004386), ATP binding (GO:0005524), nucleic acid binding (GO:0003676), hydrolase activity, acting on acid anhydrides, in phosphorus-containing anhydrides (GO:0016818)
