PFAM accession number:PF14048
Interpro abstract (IPR025884):

CpG-methylation is a frequently occurring epigenetic modification of vertebrate genomes resulting in transcriptional repression. This domain is found at the C terminus of the methyl-CpG-binding domain (MBD) containing proteins MBD2 [ (PUBMED:16246164) ] and MBD3 [ (PUBMED:12124384) ]. The latter was shown to not bind directly to methyl-CpG DNA but rather interact with components of the NuRD/Mi2 complex [ (PUBMED:17694084) ], an abundant deacetylase complex.

This is a PFAM domain. For full annotation and more information, please see the PFAM entry MBD_C
