MIIP

MIIP
PFAM accession number:PF15734
Interpro abstract (IPR031466):

Migration and invasion-inhibitory protein (MIIP or IIp45) binds to insulin-like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP-2) and inhibits the invasion of glioma cells [(PUBMED:14617774)]. MIIP attenuates mitotic transition, thereby inhibiting glioma progression [(PUBMED:20418911)]. It not only modulates IGFBP-2, but also inhibits cell migration by binding to and inhibiting HDAC6, a class 2 histone deacetylase that deacetylates alpha-tubulin [(PUBMED:20008322)].

GO process:negative regulation of cell migration (GO:0030336), negative regulation of G2/M transition of mitotic cell cycle (GO:0010972)
