TfoX Positively regulates genes required for DNA transformation (late competence-specific genes) in association with CRP [ (PUBMED:18761017) ]. This domain can also be found in Sxy from Escherichia coli. Sxy induces low levels of natural DNA uptake by inducing transcription of the competence genes (the CRP-S regulon) required for DNA transformation [ (PUBMED:17068078) (PUBMED:22532864) ].
