DJ-1_PfpI
PFAM accession number:PF01965
Interpro abstract (IPR002818):

The domain is found in intracellular cysteine peptidase PfpI [ (PUBMED:8626329) ] and other members of the DJ-1/ThiJ/PfpI superfamily [ (PUBMED:14745011) ]. Some of these have been characterised:

  • Pyrococcus horikoshii PH1704, which has both aminopeptidase and endopeptidase activity [ (PUBMED:25192005) ].
  • Arabidopsis thaliana DJ1D, which has glyoxalase I activity [ (PUBMED:23651081) ].
  • Candida albicans glyoxalase 3 [ (PUBMED:24302734) ].

It is also found in transcriptional regulators in combination with a HTH(araC) domain, such as in Pseudomonas aeruginosa cdhR [ (PUBMED:19406895) ].
