KAP

KAP

Kinesin-associated protein (KAP)
SMART ACC:SM001297
Description:This family consists of several eukaryotic kinesin-associated (KAP) proteins. Kinesins are intracellular multimeric transport motor proteins that move cellular cargo on microtubule tracks. It has been shown that the sea urchin KRP85/95 holoenzyme associates with a KAP115 non-motor protein, forming a heterotrimeric complex in vitro, called the Kinesin-II PMID:10819327.
Family alignment:View the Family alignment or the Alignment consensus sequence
There are 830 KAP domains in 830 proteins in SMART's NRDB database.

KEGG pathways involving proteins which contain this domain

This information is based on the mapping of SMART genomic protein database to KEGG orthologous groups. Percentages are related to the number of proteins containing a KAP domain which could be assigned to a KEGG orthologous group, and not all proteins containing KAP domains. Please note that proteins can be included in multiple pathways, ie. the numbers below will not add to 100%.
