AlcB

AlcB

Siderophore biosynthesis protein domain
SMART ACC:SM001006
Description:AlcB is the conserved 45 residue region of one of the proteins of a complex which mediates alcaligin biosynthesis in Bordetella and aerobactin biosynthesis in E. coli and other bacteria. The protein appears to catalyse N-acylation of the hydroxylamine group in N-hydroxyputrescine with succinyl CoA - an activated mono-thioester derivative of succinic acid that is an intermediate in the Krebs cycle.

KEGG pathways involving proteins which contain this domain

This information is based on the mapping of SMART genomic protein database to KEGG orthologous groups. Percentages are related to the number of proteins containing a AlcB domain which could be assigned to a KEGG orthologous group, and not all proteins containing AlcB domains. Please note that proteins can be included in multiple pathways, ie. the numbers below will not add to 100%.
