It is a multiple function protein that plays important roles in cellular processes such as wound healing, embryonic organ development and the pathogeneses of disease [ PUBMED:24993983 PUBMED:24732964 ]. It plays a role in anti-apoptotic response to an external stress [ PUBMED:15037574 ], paclitaxel-resistance via ROS production [ PUBMED:18306930 PUBMED:20637781 ] and HIF-1alpha stabilisation via Erk activation [ PUBMED:18272284 ].
